So what's this blog about anyway?

So here's the deal on this new blog... Many of you know that we have taken a break from the sermons on Mark and dealing with what it means to be a Gospel-centered man and Gospel-centered woman. What does that even mean? How can the Gospel of Christ be applied to our daily lives? Isn't it just something to be compartmentalized with other church stuff? Many of us used to think so. That church and God were what you talked about at church and, maybe if you had a super-spiritual family you talked about it on the way home. But after that conversation, it was business as usual at home. God and church were supposed to be left at church!

What we believe as women at Four Corners is that Jesus doesn't get left on the pews to be picked back up each week. Just talking about Him in our gospel community groups isn't the Gospel either. We believe the Gospel is most precious and significant in the daily, mundane moments. We believe that actually applying the truths of the Gospel while changing diapers, fixing dinner, vacuuming the house, loving an impatient or angry husband, driving to work or facebooking our friends is where real life change happens. And that is our goal; that the Gospel begins to become deeply rooted in our day-to-day lives. Our desire is that we would each become more like Jesus, serve our family well and love others. So hopefully this blog will be an encouragement for each of us. Comments are welcomed! Be on the lookout for more to come...
